Danny Csiszar

My name is Danny Csiszar and I am the founder, head coach, and program designer of RUN Treadmill Studio.

I have been in the health and fitness industry close to a decade and have had the opportunity to learn and work in many different environments from weight loss to athletic development.

My journey started after high school when I was out of shape, overweight, and on a less than favorable life path. Fitness and health were not my first choice in career or even in life. I was a more hands-on and technical person; I went to school to become a welder, not a coach.

My want and desire to be healthy and in shape was always lingering in the back of my head but never did I act on it. I would try fad diets or workout DVDs, but nothing really stuck. I never really had the reason to stick to it.

Towards my early 20’s I was lucky to have my first child, my daughter Robbi. She may have been the catalyst to shape this entire shift in life for me. After she was born my wife and I vowed we’d get in shape and get healthy for her. That was our WHY and it stuck! We trained religiously, we found diets that fit us, and made better life choices to help keep us on path to our goals! My passion and love for fitness took me back to school. I became a person trainer, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and running/endurance coach. All this didn’t happen over night; I spent time working at small studios and with private clients as a part time job to begin. Over time I moved from a trainer at Equinox to a coach at Velocity Sport Performance to eventually running my own personal training business.

Sometime during my journey I discovered OCR (Obstacle Course Racing). The sport at the time was so brand new very little people new what it was. OCR was a mix of foot races and military type obstacle courses sprawled out over courses ranging from 5Ks to 50Ks with obstacles suck as walls, crawls, rope climbs and lots and lots of running. Finding OCR was the boost I needed for my fitness career. It took me all around the country racing events in different states and meeting new people along the way. I know had a “niche”, an avenue to really reach out and help both people on a journey to take back their health as well as people looking to train for OCR.

In short, I started RUN out of passion and desire to change the way fitness and running is preserved. To me health, wellness, and running is freedom; freedom in the most literal sense. Running can take you anywhere, and when you can go anywhere the opportunities become endless. That is why RUN happened; to help those who may have become lost to find their own passion and their own freedom; the freedom to take back their health and hopefully to help bring a little more happiness into their lives.

After having our first born, I had gained a lot of weight. I was unhappy, unmotivated, and uncomfortable with myself. Once our daughter turned one, I decided it was time to lose my “baby weight”. And it all started with some fitness DVDs. I lost my initial weight, but I caught the workout bug! My journey continued and from there Danny and I signed up for our first Spartan Race in 2013 in Malibu. At the time, it was single handedly the hardest thing I had ever done. It was cold, miserable, difficult, and just flat out HARD. But I absolutely loved it. I was hooked! Since that first race, I have since run over 30 Spartan Races, qualified for the Spartan World Championships in 2015. I have completed 3 half marathons, numerous 10ks, and lots of 5ks! This has truly become my life. My passion. My drive. Danny and I want to share that passion with people which is the exact reason why we are opening RUN!
