OG RUN or “Original RUN” is RUN’s signature interval based treadmill class. Using the WOODWAY 4Front for its state-of-the-art technology that provides the user with an experience unlike any other. The 4Fronts belts are comprised of numerous individual shock-absorbing slats that have been scientifically proven to reduce harmful shock to joints, muscles, and connective tissue; a luxury you won’t experience on any conventional treadmill.These classes are suitable for all levels of fitness and abilities from runners to walkers. Classes will immerse participants in a fun, high-energy environment with good music and lights that will feel more like a dance party than a fitness class. Using the latest Polar OH1 heart rate monitors, we have participants working at their OWN PACE to reach the desired heart rate zones for the prescribed duration of time. OG RUN classes are designed to train the different metabolic systems from your highly explosive phosphagen system, to your mid power moderate duration glycolytic system, to your slow burning endurance oxidative system. We do this by programming different length and intensity intervals corresponding with heart rate zones. Classes will run approximately 55 minutes in which participants can expect to cover a distance of 2 to 6 miles and burn anywhere from 400 – 900 calories!
Check back periodically on the website, social media, or the community board for when our short (5k and 10K) and long (half and full marathon) distance race training programs will start. Durations will run anywhere from 5 weeks to 12 plus weeks.
RUN STRONG is RUN’s full body, functional, strength training class. A strong runner is only as strong as their weakest link, and most times runners spend more time focused on mileage than on strength training. The reality is strength training will make any runner a better runner; strength training will help to balance asymmetries in the body, build a stronger core (the transmission of the body), and most importantly help to prevent unwanted injuries. The goal for RUN STRONG is to help develop a stronger and more powerful athlete while helping to prevent injuries and a well balanced athlete needs both conditioning (OG RUN) and strength to achieve this. RUN STRONG classes will last approximately 55 minutes and will take participants through a full body resistance training routine that will include moving in all plains of motion (Sagittal, Frontal, And Transverse) as well as functional movements such as pushing, pulling, hinging, lunging, and squatting. We’ll use tools such as kettlebells, sandbags, suspension trainers, and body weight to achieve the goals we need, no need for machines (except our treadmills!). Participants can expect to burn anywhere from 300 – 700 calories per class!
